As a Registered Landscape Architect and Registered Horticulturist, I have had more than 30 years of experience in landscape design, horticulture, urban design and visual assessment, on projects throughout Australia, the UK, New Zealand, Singapore, China and the Pacific Islands.
With experience in multi-disciplinary practices and local government, I enjoy a collaborative approach to projects, including facilitating community workshops and collaborating with a diversity of design professionals. I am committed to the development of aesthetic, engaging and useable environments, which enhance the qualities of place.
I regularly provide reviews and assessments for local and state government departments and frequently present evidence in the Planning and Environment Court and the Land Court. A prolific writer, my articles are featured in blogs, specialist journals and popular magazines. I have a special interest in planting design, and the selection of appropriate plants to enhance our landscapes. With a commitment to professional education and development, I am a guest lecturer and teach landscape design and horticulture at institutions both in Australia and overseas, and also mentor novice practitioners.
Passionate about my profession and continued professional development, I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm with the public as a speaker and author, so as to encourage the public, industry and government to strive for better outcomes and value for money. I am also a keen traveller and act as a botanical guide for Botanica Tours.
